RE: Main Street Toccoa Celebrating World Photography Day with Downtown Photo Contest
Toccoa, Georgia – August 8, 2023 – Main Street Toccoa is celebrating World Photography Day this year with a Downtown Photography Contest. World Photography Day is an annual, globally recognized celebration of the art, craft, science and history of the photograph. Taking place on Saturday, August 19th, 2023, the date is recognized as the 184th anniversary of the publicly announced invention of photography as “a gift to the world.”
To join in on the celebration, Main Street Toccoa is issuing a call for photos that capture the beauty, energy, history, and experiences of Downtown Toccoa. From now through Thursday, August 17th, 2023 participants may send entries to Kristen Deal, Main Street Manager at kdeal@cityoftoccoa.com. For each photo, please include the title of the photo, as well as the date and location. Main Street Toccoa will award two winners: a youth photographer and an adult photographer. The Youth Photography Winner must be 18 years of age or younger. All photographs submitted must be taken in the Downtown Toccoa District to be considered. The winning photos will be printed, framed, and proudly displayed inside City Hall. For any questions, please call Kristen Deal at 706.898.5777.
